 Program konference:

European Roots and Shoots – Art Moves Cities
We are happy to invite you for our international conference European Roots and Shoots – Art Moves Cities
in Brussels, Belgium 25 April 2018. This Conference is the first one out of 10 international conferences in
the frame of the European Social Community Theatre Project Caravan Next, co-funded by the Creative
Europe Programme. The conference is organised by the Caravan Next lead partner Nordisk
Teaterlaboratorium – Odin Teatret and hosted by the European Committee of the Regions.
From September 2015 till February 2019 the Caravan Next network of European theatre organisations and
cultural institutions creates Social Community Theatre events in 16 different European countries. The 10
conferences aim on spreading inspiration, tools and knowledge about social community theatre based on
the experiences of the 30 Caravan Next events.
With the conference European Roots and Shoots – Art Moves Cities we invite you to board the Caravan
Next project from various perspectives: from the top of the large collaborative framework to the base of the
working fields. On the list of guest speakers we have Barbara Gessler and Pedro Velázquez from Creative
Europe and Natalie Giorgadze from Culture Action Europe. Together, we present different angles on how
European cultural projects move cities and citizens – in the past, present and future.
The conference is free of charge and is addressed to professionals working with European cultural projects.
Due to space limitations we kindly ask you to register on the link below as soon as possible. In order to
limit food waste, you are requested to inform us if you stay for lunch and cocktail. Due to registration
procedures from CoR all participants must register an ID or passport no., which you will need to show at
