Diepenheim is situated in the Twente bocage landscape between ancient country estates. It has around 2,000 inhabitants. Its location, culture and setup as a society make the Kunstvereniging a unique society. An organisation where artists love to experiment and exhibit. Renowned artists are curators and/or participate actively in the exhibition committee. Quality and authentic atmosphere are a strong combination.
Visual arts, drawing and landscape art
Key themes in Kunstvereniging Diepenheim’s activities are nature, isolation and noaberschap (neighbourliness). Visual arts, drawing and landscape art are the three main pillars.
Art Institution without walls
As an ‘art institution without walls’ Kunstvereniging Diepenheim invites visitors and exhibiting artists to wander, to browse and, above all, to get off the beaten track. The creation process, telling stories, expanding the horizon are inextricably linked to the concept ‘art institution without walls’.
Kunstvereniging Diepenheim opens its thirtieth year with an exhibition of eight young, promising artists, current or former students of art schools in the east of the Netherlands. Buiten Westen #2 is the second edition of the annual exhibition, which is hosted by guest curator Hélène Webers. Artists: Rakshita Bhargava, Henry Byrne, Kamilė Česnavičiūtė, Swaeny Nina Kersaan, Tessa Langeveld, Hedwich Rooks, Tom van Veen, Jochem van den Wijngaard.
