How can architects contribute to the building of a democratic space? How can one learn from the supranational urban and architectural experimentations that is the European presence in Brussels? How can one measure the issues of Europe’s construction and the cohabiting challenges of the European quarter and of the city of Brussels?
These are the questions raised by the Belgian Pavilion’s curators of the Biennale di Architecttura in Venice. For this year’s 16th edition, the Architecture Cell of the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles was in charge of commissioning and producing the national pavilion. The choice was made for a young team involving Traumnovelle and Roxane Le Grelle.
